BEEN BUSY?
As many of you have observed, the site has not been updated
as frequently as it has in the past. This is for good reason
as we are undergoing a steady reconstruction phase which has
become quite time consuming. We apologize to everyone and ask
you be just a bit more patient as we proceed with the finishing
touches and tweaking. We're sure you'll like what we're up to.
SOULS
OF MISCHIEF "TRILOGY"
Just as the headline suggests, Souls of Mischief are
working on their 3rd major release, tentatively titled "TRILOGY".
At press time, there were a total of 9 tracks complete. No release
date is in sight, but the group assured me they are working
non-stop on concepts and ideas. Please note that this is an
entirely different project than the Souls
/ Pharcyde album, and is in no relation to "FOCUS"
either. More soon...
"BOTH
SIDES" UPDATE
Del has gone from in-home studio work, to studio-studio
work on his 4th upcoming album, "Both Sides of the Brain".
While I didn't get a chance to talk to Del by press time, I
had murmured something to Domino that I had heard a few tracks
in August. "Oh those have probably been scrapped by now",
he replied. My immediate reaction was, "What?!". The
tracks I heard 5 months ago were leagues beyond anything I had
ever heard of Del before. "Yea", Domino replied, "Del's
on some total new sick shit now"....Much like the Souls
outfit, Del has a total of 9 tracks recorded, with Matt Kelly
returning behind the boards for this one as well.

HANDSOME BOY MODELING SCHOOL
No, I'm not trying to be a smart ass...Handsome
Boy Modeling School is actually the working title of the soon-to-be-released
collaboration album between The Automator (Dr. Octagon) &
Prince Paul. Del, who we reported in September
was working with Prince Paul, recorded a track called "Magnetizing"
which was produced by both Dan Nakamura & Prince Paul. Others
appearing on the album include DJ Shadow, El-P, J-Live, Mike
D, Mixmaster Mike, ISP and a host of others. Thanks to Sonicnet
for the leak.

PAUL LUV HIM SUM DEL
As if Prince Paul couldn't get enough of handsome
boys in modeling school, there's a strong sense that he wants
to have a part in Del's next album. Although nothing has been
etched-a-sketched as of yet ;), we've been talking about a possible
Del / De La collab. for over 2 years now. I'll stay on top of
this one...
HIERO
BIRTHDAYS
Turning 14 on February 20th is our very own KAREN!!!
up in the Hiero offices. Everyone send her email and congratulate
her on the BIG # 14! Also celebrating a birthday in February
is MATT KELLY!!!! turning some age I don't know on the 6th!

DEL IN HIS PJ's
Anyone catch Eddie Murphy's animated show
"The PJ's" on FOX last week? Did you have any
clue that Del, TruBoy & Prince Paul recorded a song
originally intended to be the show's opening track? Well,
obviously the higher ups weren't feeling it, but there's
a strong chance the song will pop up in some form, sometime.
SHALOKON
FINDS HYDRA
An independent movie by the name of "SHALOKON"
will release Del's title song "Future Development"
on the movie's soundtrack, as well as an unreleased Hieroglyphics
cut called "HYDRA". No other information is currently
available. If anyone knows any more, please feel free to
contact us.

Throw recording artist, Rasco will be teaming up for
a cut, unannounced of which, is the label it will be published
under. No other news was available at press, so of course
any updates will be listed here in the future.

EYE VISION WRECKING SHIT
The February issue of "The SOURCE"
magazine lists Hieroglyphics' "3rd Eye Vision"
as one of the year's 5 best independent albums (no ranking
was assigned per-number). Sales figures of the album have
been the highest they've ever been since June 14th 1998.
During the last two weeks of December, sales skyrocketed.
In particular, December 27th marked the highest day of sales
in the album's history on the market. Consulting Scientists
back at the Hieroglyphics Labs attribute this as a culmination
of both video airplay, and Holiday Shopping season fever.
The video continues its reign of play on BET, YO! MTV and
soon The Access Video Channel. Watch for the all-new Hieroglyphics
commercial appearing on the Access Channel first and then
elsewhere.
Hieroglyphics extends its thanks for the
continued support of "3rd Eye Vision". Its success
has allowed the group to focus on new music production,
which in turn will be supplying headphones down-right bump
from now til infinity (excuse the pun). I personally would
like to thank Jake, Alex, and Karen for their continued
support and efforts (and making my phone ring non-stop).
And of course, all HieroHeads worldwide!
