A
few days ago, we updated the Hieroglyphics Sound Vault
with 8 songs that were previously scrapped from the
final "3rd Eye Vision" track listing. Domino
has since corrected a few of the song's track names,
added producer notes, and finally commentary as to the
song's backgrounds.
The following is courtesy Domino:
"Think
About It" (Original Title:"Think")
Producer: Domino
"This beat just never came together for me. The
drum program was just too choppy and most cats including
myself didn't feel it so it was scrapped."
"5 Heads Are Better Than One" (Original Title:
"Hydra")
Produced by Casual
"I really wanted this to go on the album but the
reason it didn't is because the song is about being
a person with multiple personalities (all 5 emcees represent
one person). We felt it needed an intro skit that would
explain the song's meaning but when that didn't come
together the song fell out of favor."
Casual (Alternate
Version)
Produced by Domino
"Casual didn't like how it came out and did the
version that was on the album."
Bubble
Up
Produced by Casual
Snupe
Produced by Domino
Hittin
Corners
Produced by Snupe
" All of these songs were scrapped mainly cause
of Snupe's departure from Hiero near the end of the
recording process. "Off
the Record" was kept because we didn't think
it would work it we got someone else for the hype up
chorus and we liked the song a lot as it was."
No
Joke
Produced by ?
"This song was not recorded for Third Eye Vision
and honestly I couldn't hear it good enough to recognize
what is was from. But it was definitely not for Third
Eye Vision.
PS: There are a few more songs that didn't make the
album besides these ones. Look for future Hiero Oldies
for them."
