Shipping Times Addressed
There has been much question recently as to the procedures that are undertaken when processing orders for the Hieroglyphics Emporium. I recently sat down and had a chat with Domino regarding the concern, and the following is an editorial outlining some of that conversation's highlights.
Every month this site grows larger in viewer-base. As a result of this growth, more and more orders for items in the Emporium are processed by Hiero themselves. Everything from going to the post office to pick up the orders, to cashing the checks, and sending the orders to your homes is done entirely by Hiero. No one member has the "duty" or the "job" of processing orders. Whoever has the time to do it and can fit it into their daily schedule will go and get the job accomplished. With this in mind, you have to take into account the hectic nature every member of the crew has been under due to the development of 3rd Eye Vision. Between recording, going to school, working day jobs, etc. time is very limited for the crew at the present time. Now, I state this not to use it as an excuse, but only to point out their daily routines are much like yours or mine. How quickly do you think you could process over X amount of orders a month?
Below is a diagram depicting roughly how the order process is conducted by Hiero:
Now by no means is this chart followed to point every shipping period, but you should get, more or less, an idea of how it all works.
If you notice, the predicted total of weeks for delivery is 4-6 weeks. This is the same amount of time alloted to almost all mail-order services be it Time Life television commercials, or Hieroglyphic Emporium items. There have been cases where some people's orders have exceeded the 4-6 week range, and that is unacceptable. Domino and myself outlined many new procedures which we will be working on once they get back from touring, to assure such mishaps don't happen again.
If you've been wondering where your order has been prior to August 31st, the UPS shook-up has much to blame. UPS' workload was completely dumped onto the US Postal System, which has caused many delays worldwide. This should be corrected fairly shortly if not already.
Among changes in shipping procedures, you can expect an all new store to debut online shortly, with many other changes being outlined on paper as you read this. Your concerns do not go unheard. If you have a question or suggestion regarding anything in the online store be it items or procedures, email [email protected], and they'll get back to you at their earliest convenience.
From myself and the Hiero crew, we sincerly apologize for any delays or mishaps on our part in regards to shipping times. Again, I stress we are working 100 miles per hour to unwrinkle the kinks, and I'll be back with you shortly to inform you of any updates.
Thanks for the continued
support (and reading this far!!) :)
Peace!! -StinkE
