Food
Fight (Digital Underground feat. Del) |
|
This
was a dope teamup. Digital Underground's infamous Humpty Hump
collaborates with Del, and the two go off about various seasoning
techniques and how to make a ham sandwhich. Originally appearing
on DU's hidden jewel of an album "Future Rhythm".
On Bellmark-Ryko records. It gets cut off at the end. I'll
try to find a better, complete version. Sorry about that....

Del

Produced
by Stimulated Dummies as the title suggests, you can look
forward to this one coming out on Stimulated Records sometime

Ross, and the cut undeniably has an old-skool feel to it.

Gorillaz

The
sound quality on this one is a bit rugged, but it was the
best we could do. The Gorillaz is a group consisting of Del
the funky homosapien, Dan the Automator & Damon Albarn,
lead singer of Blur. Watch for this on 75 Ark Records. 2000 |

Del
comes so sick on this song, it still leaves me speechless.
Sucked into a computer, Del finds himself in a cyber world

it is up to Del to escape. Need I say more? This track can

(That Shit!) |
|
Wooooooow...Why
this didn't make any version of "Future Development"
is beyond me. Pep & Del FREAK this beat with A-Plus closing
it off lovely. Plea's vocals are a bit low as the track was
never fully mixed, and to this day the cut remains nameless.
Watch for it to appear on a Hiero compilation, no doubt. 1996. |

Oakland
Blackouts (Original) |
|
Although
this track currently appears on "3rd Eye Vision",
it was originally recorded for Del's "Future Development".
The original version of the song features a completely different
bassline, and "Snupe" of Extra Prolific fame gets
props at the end of the song, before he was no longer a member
of the group. 1995. |

"Cold
Cuts" AKA "No Nuts" was originally recorded
for "Future Development" in 1995. The track was
pulled and brought over to "3rd Eye Vision" where
Del's original 3 verses were now shared with a lyrically lethal
Pep Love. You won't find Pep on this track, however. Here
it is in its original state. 1995. |

Crazy
Del Song |
|
Just
shortly after the official release of "I Wish My Brother
George Was Here", Del began to develop his own sound,
sans then-partner and cousin, Ice Cube. Hiero Heads got a
taste when "Eye Examination" appeared as a B-Side
to the "Dr. Bombay" 12" single. However, said
song was actually the last cut in a 3-part track, aptly titled
"Crazy Del Song". You've (hopefully) heard "Eye
Exam" before. Here are the first two parts of the multi-tiered
cut, now officially housed on Hiero
Oldies Vol. I. 1992. |

Eye
Examination |
|
This
song is important for a couple of reasons. Originally the
B-Side to the "Dr. Bombay" 12", the song sounded
quite different from the P-Funk-inspired beats of Del's then
current album, "I Wish My Brother George Was Here".
Hiero Heads later found out via Hiero
Oldies Vol. I that this song was originally part
of a longer, 3-tiered cut including "Crazy Del Song"
and another untitled jam. Eye Examination can now be found
on Hiero
B-Sides, and the latter part of its original existence
can be found on Hiero
Oldies Vol. I. The song is important because it
was an introduction of what was to come later on Del's sophomore
effort "No Need For Alarm" and was also a sign of
Del parting ways with the P-Funk sound made legendary by cousin,
Ice Cube. 1994. |

Anyone
remember a Whoppie Goldberg movie called "Made In America"?
Well, that's where this track stems from. The original single

mix. There was even a video as well (if memory serves, in
a laundry mat??). The cut can now be found on Hiero
B-Sides. 1994. |
