Thanks
goes out to Arsin who tracked down the availability
of the Gorillaz 4-song EP currently for sale online
and overseas. Interested in picking up a copy of the
CD or vinyl, you can head over to www.hmv.co.uk
and do a search for "Gorillaz". The tracklisting
is as follows:
1. Tomorrow Comes Today
2. Rock The House
3. Latin Simone
4. 12D3
Del the funky homosapien is featured on 2 of the 4 songs.
Amazon.com
also carries the Gorillaz EP, in CD format only (as
of this writing) and lists an additional track as "Enhanced
Video". This is more than likely the QuickTime
video we reported on earlier
for "Tomorrow Comes Today", but we can not
be certain as we have yet to obtain a copy for our own
use. No additional information is available as to whether
or not there will be added enhanced content other than
the video.
The next bit of news comes courtesy NYC Sewer Rat who
chimed in with this
link giving us a full, detailed description of the
Gorillaz project. An excerpt reads: "Gorillaz are
the brainchild of Murdoc, a snaggle-toothed Svengali
from Stoke-On-Trent. He's a self-taught bassist with
a mind like a rusty steel trap and a burning desire
to create a chart-topping band. Influences: - Sabbath,
Dub, J Andrew Anderson, Dennis Wilson. From day one
Gorillaz' warped back-seat driver knew that good tunes
weren't enough to succeed; he needed good looks and
good equipment, neither of which he had. Murdoc met
frontman 2D while ram-raiding the Organ Emporium where
he worked."
The article goes on to list the talents of Miho Hatori,
Jamie Hewlett, Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Tina Frantz,
Damon Albarn, Ibrahim Ferrer and, of course, Dan The
Automator in connection with the record.
You can visit www.gorillaz.com
for additional info, as well as www.75ark.com
which is the home to Dan The Automator's record label.
The Gorillaz EP was released overseas in the United
Kingdom on November 27th, 2000 on Parlophone Records.
No word yet as to when the record will be released domestically
within the United States.
