The
following is from our good pal Allen Gordon; EMusic.com's
Hip-Hop Director. Enjoy.
?We have the best fans in the world. All the love that
they have given us over the years. . . you can't imagine
what it means to us.? ? A Plus, of The Mighty Souls
Of Mischief
Hiero MP3s
I take great pride in being a Hieroglyphics fan, as
I am sure you do. You name it, I've got it: every version
of every T-shirt, every underground tape release, LP,
every single, I've got it or I'm working to get it.
That's how much we love these cats and what they represent.
During the ten years I've chronicled the birth and growth
of Del, Souls, Casual, Pep Love, Jay Biz and Domino
for magazines like The Source and Rap Pages,
there is one common fact: Hiero fans are the most loyal
and supportive hip hop has to offer. The Hieroglyphics
has been at the forefront of music, lyric, economic
and technologic innovation. Through it all, we fans
have been there, growing with them.
Now that I am working with Hiero as a member of their
exclusive MP3 digital distribution team at EMusic, I
can flaunt my bias for the group and explore this new
space of downloading MP3 music via the Internet.
So I offer my fellow ?Hiero Heads? an exclusive gift
for trying out this service and downloading Hiero music.
EMusic offering a free trial subscription to their subscription
service "EMusic Unlimited." Download up to 100 MP3 tracks
from the Hieroglyphics catalog on EMusic for up to 30
days at no charge. As an exclusive offer to the Hiero
community, I'll send a pair of of Jensen
stereo headphones to the first 500 people who sign
up for the free trial subscription. These headphones
are the most comfortable and crisp I've ever used on
my portable MP3 player, Discman or computer, nor are
they cumbersome, since Jensens rest along the base of
your neck (as opposed to over the top of the head).
Click
Here to sign up for a trial subscription to
EMusic Unlimited, follow the directions at the end of
the sign-up process, and the headphones will be in the
mail and you'll be ready to get Hieroglyphics MP3 tracks
on the Jetsons' level. (Offer available in the USA and
Canada only.)
Imagine the entire Hieroglyphics catalog since 1996,
including exclusive tracks and freestyles like Del's
"It's About Time," or a Mista Sinista produced freestyle
by SOM, available at the click of a mouse. There are
over 140,000 tracks of every genre at EMusic to select
from. It's a fun and exciting new way to discover new
music or get reacquainted with old favorites.
Souls On The Road
With the Souls of Mischief ending a successful one-month
tour with Pep Love and the X-Ecutioners, plans are underway
for another road warrior trip in 2001. The crew are
not saying who they'll be with, but we'll stay tuned.
While they were on the road, Tajai kept a diary of their
tour. The happenings and guests who dropped by the shows,
the funny and tense moments, all will be available next
week on the SOM microsite on EMusic. And we still have
six autographed Trilogy vinyl and MP3 players to give
away.
New at EMusic
After spending 40 days on the road with SOM and Pep
Love, fans wanted to know what was going on with the
number one DJ crew, the X-Ecutioners. In a pretty thorough
interview conducted by Tajai, X-Men members Mista Sinista,
Roc Raida, Total Eclipse and Rob Swift talked about
what they're doing collectively and individually, as
well as the state of DJing in 2000. It's good reading.

Be sure to continue checking out the Hieroglyphic website
for all of the latest updates on Hiero artists, articles,
gear and what is happening over with the crew in the
digital universe at EMusic.
