After watching the Giants destroy the Braves for my final journey to The Stick, I trekked over to Casa de Domino to watch Pittsburgh destroy the Browns in the Cleveland Home Opener (September 12th 1999). Domino had couched it for a whole day of football and was satisfied with the Steelers' win. After the game was over I went down into the dungeon to check out some of Domino's new beats he was making for Pep Love's album (currently titled "Ascension"). Since I had my video camera I asked him to briefly walk me through the development of the beats. Click on the numbered clips to step through each beat's process. I was surprised at how obscure the samples were, but wasn't surprised with how tight the beats came off. A week later on a photo shoot with Pep, I heard the vocals he had done for one of the beats (Course 2) and got a bit more excited. The album will be quite nice to the ears.
