Individual artists pages took a back seat when the group
began to form as a collective for the recording of the Family
Album, "3rd Eye Vision" in mid-1996. An organic
emphasis was placed on the full collective as opposed to
individual artists, as was necessary to make sure "3rd
Eye Vision" was to be released and the Hieroglyphics
Imperium label started. It would be 2 full years later when
Del would begin to record "Both Sides of the Brain"
that individual group members would revert back to their
original solo recording practices, and relief from a "Family"
posture was exercised.
The rapid growth of the site and the Hieroglyphics Imperium
label left little breathing room in between 3rd Eye Vision
and Both Sides of the Brain. Del began work on "Both
Sides" almost immediately after getting off the road
from touring for 3rd Eye Vision. Work on a fully redesigned
Hieroglyphics website began as well.
Sneak-peek-bits-and-pieces of the forthcoming, redesigned
website began appearing online as early as June 1999, just
as Del's first single, "Phony Phranchise" began
creeping to market. The fully completed, redesigned website
was revealed 4 months later on October 25th 1999. Focus
on marketing Del's "Both Sides of the Brain" record
online began in complete conjunction with the brand new
site's debut, and continued at full capacity leading up
to the record's delayed release of April 11th 2000. In addition,
the website slowly had to rebuild the momentum lost while
it was "de-constructing" between 1998 and 1999.
New content, features, and building relations with 3rd party
partners became a dedicated focus, while updated and redesigned
artist pages once again took a back seat. As of this writing,
new artist pages have yet to be concluded, however domain
names for each group have been purchased and await activation.
