I finally got the chance to sit down and have a thorough conversation with members of the crew concerning the shut-down.
Obviously, their concern regarding the matter was relatively high. They pointed out the fact that their current schedule between publishing, touring, etc. is very strenuous, and that they are trying their best at all the matters they are involved with. My personal concerns with them were squashed after a lengthy conversation, which seemed to eminate from a lack of communication on both ends. Altough many of my requests have gone unheard, I was not fully aware of the burdensome schedule each member of the crew is currently in arms with. The understanding that I am on one side of the country, and they are on a whole other end only now came into focus. In other words, all I know is what they tell me, and as such, I don't always get the full story. Meanwhile, I'm trying to relay what I know to all of you. That middle ground has to support both ends, and it's not an easy task.
The question arose as to why I brought personal matters concerning myself and the crew into the limelight of the internet public? As far as I know, this is still my site: It started as a fan site, continues to be a fan site, and as long as I run it, it will be a fan site. I think one of the high points of this site is that you get a fan's perspective on the crew, rather than some shiesty record-label funded site, which tells you only what they want you to know. Granted, I don't spill all the beans on the crew, if there are problems concerning their fans, I'm damn sure going to infom them of it. And this brings me back to the online store.
Hiero is now fully aware of the store's current stagnation. We have agreed to keep the store closed until all orders prior to September 14th are processed. In accordance with Hiero, I have developed a new system which will allow you to check up on your order's status at any time, via the web site. In addition, an all-new store will be launched, new items will be added, and a new procedure of mailing the items more promptly is currently in the developmental stages. Hiero has been 100% cooperative in generating a new formula, and are working just as fast to rectify the situation.
For those wondering, Hiero took all the orders with them on the promo tour, and have been mailing them from city to city as they have been performing. I've always said that this indie shit is new to them (See editorial labeled "Shipping X's"), and they are trying their hardest to put this album out and run this business. Finally, these problems have been fully addressed and are being rectified as you read.
An official address from Hiero concerning these matters should be available within the next few days online, so you'll get their take on things as well.
I look forward to continue working with Hieroglyphics, and taking this web shit to a new plateau. If you have any questions, give me a holler!
